The self catering accommodation at Doves Barn is situated in the lovely county of Suffolk, just outside Needham Market. Needham Market has its own railway station, public bouses, take away restaurants, post office and local shops.
Needham Market church dates back to the 1400s. Originally a Chapel of Ease to the Bishop of Barking, it became a parish church in its own right around 1900.
There is a suggestion that it could have been somewhere visited by pilgrims journeying to the shrine of Saint Edmund at Bury St Edmunds.
Needham Lake is a man made water feature. The land was originally open meadow but in the 1970s, it was used as a gravel pit which supplied gravel for the laying of the A14 trunk road.
When the road project was complete, the resultant pit was allowed to flood, and the lake came into being. There is a car park beside the lake for use by visitors.
